Hi everyone,
After the hectic week of scheduling coming to an end and finally having a schedule set up for next semester, I can honestly say I am extremely excited for it. Since I could not get into many PE classes I was able to register for more classes in my minor. I decided to minor in APA and I can honestly say it is one of the best decisions I have made thus far in my life. I will be taking Assessment Techniques in APA, Adapted and Theueraputic and Program Design. I know these classes require a good amount of work and a lot of time outside of class but it is so rewarding.
I was well aware of the committment I was making when I decided to minor in APA but could not be happier with my decision. After taking Equine Assisted Activities, Intro to Adapted, and Adapted Aquatics, I can safely say I fell in love with this minor.
It is a pretty hefty minor since it is close to 30 extra credits but I highly suggest it to anyone thinking about minoring or even if you have any extra credits to take, take something else in this minor.
Adapted Physical Activity gave me a new outlook on not only education but on life as well. The clients that we have come in are all so unique and wonderful in their own ways. Yeah, they will have there bad days and be hard to work with, but don't we all? Usually I walk out of class, mentoring, or whatever else I am helping with, with a huge smile on my face and my day a little bit better. I truly believe that we are learning just as much from the clients as they are learning from us.

Crunch time, we are in the homestretch!
It's hard to believe that in a few short weeks we will have all completed another semester here at Slippery Rock. We are all at that point where the stress is starting to get to us with trying to finish everything up for all of our classes and thinking about the finals yet to come. Everyone has scheduled for next semester and see's what we still have on our plates. I think it's crazy how fast college is going! I feel like I was just moving in as a freshman and here I am finishing my sophomore year! Sometimes I feel like time is going so slow, but the semesters are flying by! I am anxious for what I have still to come here!
But I just want to wish everyone luck with the last few weeks of classes and finals! We can do it! Remember, We ROCK!

My hectic and frustrating day of scheduling
Today I was scheduled to register at 8am. I woke up early to double check my schedule and see what was still available. I was all ready to go at 8am and everything read off with errors. I was able to schedule 3 of my classes right away. I then kept trying to get through the system but it kept saying error. Around 8:45 I was able to finish my scheduling. I have 7 classes next semester and it looks like it's going to be challenging yet enjoyable. I am taking 3 classes for my minor which is Adapted Physical Activity, and then I am in Outdoor Pursuits, Personal Physical Fitness, Anatomy :x and Life and leisure Activities. It will be a hard and busy semester but I am excited for another year! I can't believe I am going to be a junior!

The New Scheduling System at Slippery Rock University
After scheduling the last few semesters using "Rock Talk" I finally started to get the hang of the system and comfortable with using it. However, Slippery Rock decided to change to a newer system since we have been using the same system for over 50 years. The new system seems to be a lot more user friendly but I am nervous to have to try to figure it out for the first time tomorrow, especially since it is at 8 in the morning! I heard that the amount of seats available in the class doesn't update right away and that makes me nervous. I guess I can only hope for the best and cross my fingers! Good luck to everyone else scheduling tomorrow or anytime next week!
