The New Scheduling System at Slippery Rock University

After scheduling the last few semesters using "Rock Talk" I finally started to get the hang of the system and comfortable with using it. However, Slippery Rock decided to change to a newer system since we have been using the same system for over 50 years. The new system seems to be a lot more user friendly but I am nervous to have to try to figure it out for the first time tomorrow, especially since it is at 8 in the morning! I heard that the amount of seats available in the class doesn't update right away and that makes me nervous. I guess I can only hope for the best and cross my fingers! Good luck to everyone else scheduling tomorrow or anytime next week!

  1. I scheduled on Monday and for me I had some good but mostly bad experiences with this new system! You can add in all of the classes at once so that is a plus about it! But it wouldn't let me into classes that I needed, which I had to run around like a crazy person to get signatures with the Drop/Add cards. Also, once I scheduled I have been getting numerous e-mails from teachers saying their classes changed and that I need to change my schedule!! I was so mad, but I did change my schedule 2 other times after Monday. I hope you have better luck than me!

  2. Have fun scheduling tomorrow at 8am with the whole class of 2013. It is going to be a race to get the classes you will need! I scheduled today at 10am and got everything I needed, except for intro to adapted phys activity due to a scheduling error. The new system is really easy to use and as stated in the previous blog, being able to add all your classes at once is a huge positive. Good luck with your scheduling!

  3. Ya didn't have the best time trying to schedule at 8 in the morning because the system didn't work for me right away. I had checked the classes I wanted the night before and they seemed to be open. But because of the malfunction of the system I didn't schedule until about 8:40 and from there classes that I wanted were not longer open. Hope your experience was a little better than mine.
